CODY ADDRESSES BULLYING
CCMS 8th grader, Cody, presented the student body with a short bullying presentation. Cody urged students to not take part in bullying. He also encouraged them to join the new Bully Club which was founded due to Cody's desire to end bullying at CCMS.
CCMS STUDENT DONATES NEW DODGE BALLS TO THE PE CLASS
Mr. G. was surprised with some new PE equipment from an unlikely source. Korran, purchased some new dodge balls and donated them to Mr. G to use in his PE classes. Students were also excited with the new equipment and enjoyed a fun game of dodge ball using the new equipment this morning!! Thanks Korran!!!

AR Bowling Trip
Students who met their 3rd AR Goal got to enjoy a trip to the bowling alley for their hard work. Fun was had by everyone all though, no one bowled a very high score! :)

Despite the frigid spring temperatures and the recent snowfall, the CCMS Lady Panther softball team has managed to get on the field for a few games. The Lady Panther season promises to be an exciting one.

FEBRUARY EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH
The February employees of the month are Bobby Felty and Ronnie Carter. Bobby and Ronnie are a huge asset to CCMS. Congratulations Bobby and Ronnie, we are lucky to have you at CCMS.
ARTS and HUMANITIES SPEECHES
Getting up in front of the class to give a speech is not an easy task. The 7th grade Arts and Humanities students conquered the fear of public speaking, by giving speeches in front of their classmates and some of the faculty at CCMS. OPERATION PREPARATION TAKE 2
On day two of Operation Preparation Week students interested in pursuing a career in the education spoke with retired teachers about the the field of teaching. Retired teachers, Ms. Charlotte Cash, Ms. Eva Breedlove, Mr. Bill Garmon, and Ms. Connie Cravens shared their expertise and did an excellent job of pointing these future educators in the right direction!
REALITY STORE PREPARATION
Mrs. Priscilla prepares 8th graders for the CCMS Reality Store. Reality Store is an annual event that gives students the opportunity to learn how to budget, pay bills, and handle the "unexpected" cost in life.
6th GRADERS VISIT THE STATE CAPITAL AND THE UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY
6th graders visited the state capital and spoke with State Representatives Bart Rowland and Sara Beth Gregory. Students toured the state capital building, as well as the University of Kentucky campus. Students were really excited about a surprise appearance by UK Wildcats head coach, John Calipari.
Dustin, is a true Alabama fan, but still enjoyed the trip to UK and Frankfort.
OPERATION PREPARATION DAY 1
Operation Preparation is a state wide initiative to help 8th and 10th graders become college and career ready. Each day this week students will attend presentations from professionals from various area to learn about varying occupations.
On Monday students interested in a career in the health field spoke with Ms. Kelly Morgan, Mr. Rick Neikirk, and Dr. Stephenson about careers in the health field.

BOOKS and BAGELS
To conclude the 2nd annual literacy week, CCMS students enjoyed Books and Bagels. There's nothing like a good book and a delicious bagel to end a great literacy week!
CCMS PARTICIPATES IN JEFF KINNEY WEBINAR
During literacy week, CCMS students had the opportunity to participate in a webinar with Jeff Kinney, author of the Diary of the Wimpy Kid Series. Kinney spoke about his writing process, how he developed the Diary of the Wimpy Kid series, and what was next for the Diary of the Wimpy Kid.
KENTUCKY STORY TELLER VISITS CCMS
Thomas Freese is an animated storyteller who uses a wide range
of voices, plays guitar and sings original songs. He tells stories from
folklore, history and his own experiences. His storytelling is enriched by his
talent as an author of a half dozen books. Thomas performs at over 60 venues
each year, and this week he visited CCMS. He is a member of the Kentucky Storytelling Association and Editor of
the KSA Newsletter. Mr. Freese, presented his story telling program, Haunted Civil War Battlefields.
