COLLEGE & CAREER FAIR

8th graders at CCMS participated in the annual Career and College Fair.   Students spoke with representatives from various colleges from around the state, military personnel, as well as individuals from a variety or careers.

I KNOW HOW TO....

The 8th grade ELA classes have been working on composing "how to" speeches and producing a demonstration to present to their classmates.  Students demonstrated a variety of activities including how to walk like a model, how to make a 3 layer cake, how to make chocolate milk, how to tie a scarf, how to ride a dirt bike and how to be successful at a job interview, and how to play defense just to name a few.  The student presentations were jam packed with videos of them selves completing the activities, YouTube videos, visual aids and a variety of other tools including tasty treats that were the product of their demonstration.  The demonstrations were quite informative as well as entertaining!!
 
 



 

CCMS PEP CLUB GIVES BACK

The CCMS Pep club sponsored a canned food drive to help the local food pantry during the upcoming holiday season.
 
 

CCMS Leadership Students Participate in Monthly Commodities Distribution

 
Each month the leadership students at CCMS lend a helping hand in the countywide commodities distribution.

ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE CLASS MAKES ANEMOMETERS

The new 12 weeks classes have begun and Ms. Dishman's Environmental Science class is in full swing.  Students were busy today making anemometers.
 




 

7th GRADERS BECOME ARCHAEOLOGIST

Students in 7th grade social studies played the role of an archaeologist as they entered the "tombs" from the Shang Dynasty in Ancient China.  Students used secret codes to learn more about the "artifact" and determine what this artifact said about the Ancient Chinese culture and lifestyles. Most students agreed that the career of archaeologist was much more difficult than they ever thought!!!
 
 




 

TEACHERS ENJOY A LITTLE TLC

Teachers enjoyed a simple spa treatment to show appreciation for all their hard work.

FACULTY HAYRIDE

CCMS Faculty and Staff enjoyed a hayride and bonfire!




CCMS AG CLUB

The CCMS AG club held a fundraiser to assist the South Dakota FFA chapter with blizzard relief aid.  Members of the AG club donated and sold snacks during break each day.  Total, the club raised $147.00 to support blizzard relief.

ROCKS and CHOCOLATE?

 
Mrs. Brittany's 7th grade science class  discovered the difference between igneous and sedimentary rocks by using chocolate.  This science lab was the "sweetest" yet for 7th graders.

The Night Before 7th Grade

Ms. Amber's 7th grade Arts and Humanities class wrote, directed, and performed an original play entitled "The Night Before 7th Grade".  The students did a phenomenal job.

3 STUDENTS ENTER THE 100 POINT AR CLUB

Three students were inducted into the AR 100 point club during Fridays award assembly.  Shelby, Morgan, and Laketra have all earned more than 125 points, just during the first 12 week goal period at CCMS.  Good job ladies, keep up the good work.
 


 

HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY....

Students who scored Proficient or distinguished on the 2013 KPREP test were rewarded with a sweet treat during Fridays 1st 9 weeks assembly. 
 


 




Students also enjoyed a dodge ball competition against the teachers.  The teachers took 5 out of 6 matches.  That's not to bad!!!!
