CCMS GIVE BACK

7th grader Mckenzie Pruitt saw an opportunity to do something for someone else and led CCMS to do the same.  Mckenzie read about a young man named Dalton from Salyersville, Kentucky who was suffering from stage 4 Cystic Fibrosis.  With only a short time to live, Dalton's wish was to break the Guinness Book of World Records for receiving the most Christmas cards ever, which was 35,000. 

 

 

Mckenzie and CCMS made more than 300 Christmas cards to mail to Dalton.

 

Mckenzie along with the rest of CCMS students and faculty mailed 359 Christmas cards, to Dalton to help him reach his goal.  If you would like to read more about Dalton's story visit the link below.

7th GRADE ARTS AND HUMANITIES PRODUCTION

Ms. Amber's 7th grade Arts and Humanities class presented "I"m a Teenager, Get Me Out of This Family" written by Jim Garvy.  The students and Ms. Amber did a magnificent job with the play. If you missed it, you missed a great production!

6TH GRADE TECHNOLOGY

6th grade technology students visited 8 different stations to prepare for their upcoming test.  Of all the stations, students agreed that they enjoyed the SMART Board station the most!!

LEXINGTON CHILDREN'S THEATER

Lexington's Children Theater presented The Adventures of Tom Sawyer to CCMS students Friday.  What a great production!!!

NOVEMBER SUPERSTARS

CCMS November superstars are 6th grader Gavin Vincent, 7th grader Gary Carrol, and 8th grader Ande Flatt.  Congratulations students, keep up the hard work!

TranspARTation Grant

CCMS applied for the Kentucky Arts Council transpARTation grant, and was one of 18 schools in the state to be awarded this grant.  This grant provided funds for transportation funds to take students to live productions at various venues across the state.

CCMS chose to take 7th grade students to the Horse Cave Theater to view Charles Dickens well known production, A Christmas Carol.  Students enjoyed the live production and the entire theater experience as well as a lunch at Cracker Barrel.  CCMS wants to thank the Kentucky Arts Council for making this experience possible for the 7th graders at CCMS.
